Techbed Testing: Checking Tablet & Phone Sizes at Currys

We’ve been popping into our local Currys store as they have Samsung, Lenovo and Apple areas: it seemed like the perfect place to recheck actual screen sizes against our Techbed Mini, Techbed and Techbed Maxi portfolio.

The two young chaps in Currys, when I showed them what the Techbed Mini was for, immediately had a “young chap thought” about hands-free mobile use that I will not be sharing here....

Clearly, I talked about FaceTime, Kindles and watching Sky Sports/TV on a phone.

Anyway, the testing has helped us realign the suitable screen sizes, and we’ve now updated the website, Etsy and Amazon stores accordingly.

Techbed Mini – smartphones, Kindles, eReaders and tablets up to 8"

Techbed – smartphones, Kindles, eReaders and tablets up to 10.9"

Techbed Maxi – large tablets up to 14.6", tested as shown in the photos below with a 14.6" Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, in both portrait and landscape.

We also tested the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite 10.9" with the Mini. It does work, particularly in landscape, but we’d suggest the Techbed is a more suitable choice for a 10.9" tablet if you want comfortable use in both portrait and landscape.

We will be rephotographing the portfolio in the coming weeks with various screen-size tablets, Kindles and, especially for Amazon, a phone that has no branding — not even branding in a football stadium on a TV shot — as their AI Bot thing will delist the SKU.

(Rogue photo with adidas stadium branding for reference.)

We hope this all helps.

Stay safe
